Early Paper Money of America / La Louisiane / 1775, etc. Spanish Certificates of Credit

Under the Spanish regime certificates of credit and paper bills from one-quarter real upward circulated following the beginning of the American Revolution. No examples have been located, but mention of such paper money and its depreciation is in a letter dated March 28,1785 written by John Fitzpatrick, a merchant in Manchac, Louisiana.
