£25,000 in Bills issued pursuant to the Mar. 21, 1772 Act. The pence denominations are small in size and their backs are typeset. The back of the 2s6d has a chevron design cut. The other backs have nature prints. See August 10, 1739 issue for spelling and type style variations. First appearance of the name of James Smither as engraver of border cuts. Printed by Hall & Sellers on paper containing blue thread and mica flakes. The face of the 40s is printed in red and black. The upper right corner of the back of the 10s leaf image shows that a nail was used to attach the type metal leaf casting to a wood block and that corner broke off, but the lower left nail caused no damage. Signers were Clement Biddle, Thomas Clifford, Samuel Coates, Thomas Coombe, Isaac Cox, Joseph Dean, Joel Evans, Thomas Fisher, Samuel Howell, Jr., Adam Hubley, Samuel Hudson, Charles Humphreys, John Mifflin, Anthony Morris, Jr., Cadwalader Morris, John Morton (signer of the Declaration of Independence), Samuel Pleasants, Joseph Pemberton, John Sellers, Joseph Sims, Jr., Joseph Swift, Jeremiah Warder, Jr., James Wharton, and Benjamin Wynkoop, with one signer for the four lowest denominations and three for the others.
