Description | 1846 First Restrike Proof Breen 1-B R8-. PCGS graded Proof 66 Brown. CAC. Reverse of 1856. Bluish steel and chocolate brown with iridescent rose and faded mint red in protected areas of the obverse. The fields are nicely reflective with moderate mirrors on both sides. The notable defects are a very shallow contact mark or planchet depression on the rim under the 1 in the date and a tiny rim nick left of star 4. Our grade is Proof-63. Weight 83.4 grains. The attribution and Missouri Cabinet provenance are shown on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; the only example graded.
