1913 5C Type One PR64 NGC. CAC. The Buffalo nickel design was introduced in 1913 to much popular acclaim. The matte proof format proved less popular, however, and only 1,520 proofs were struck. This near-Gem survivor retains rich luster and is well struck, save for some softness on LIBERTY. The reverse reveals a few small splashes of gold, with both sides displaying scattered, tiny specks of gray. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
