| Description | 1845 25C MS65 S NGC. Rings of rainbow patina are again the order of the day on the obverse, here deepening into a lovely, deep purplish hue near the rim, while the reverse is silver ringed with gold. The Star designation is well-justified, as is the Gem grade, given the excellent strike and overall preservation. Census: 7 in 65 (1 in 65 S), 1 finer (10/13). Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society. Realized $7,637.50 . Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, ha.com. |
