1846 25C MS64 NGC. CAC. The 1846 quarter in Mint State is far more elusive than generally thought, and Gems are seldom seen at all. This near-Gem boasts a range of blue and aqua shades on the obverse, with a gold, lilac, and blue reverse and abundant eye appeal throughout. A couple of nicks in the upper reverse field determine the grade. A highly appealing coin; collectors seeking a nicer-looking example may be in for a long search. Census: 8 in 64, 1 finer (10/13). Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
