1916-D 25C MS68 NGC. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. NGC and PCGS have combined to certify more than 43,000 business strike Barber quarters, and nearly 3,500 of those are examples of the 1916-D. Of those 3,500 1916-D quarters, just one, the Eric P. Newman specimen, has earned the impressive MS68 grade. The mint luster is dominant, even once the significant gray-blue toning is factored in. There are no abrasions apparent on either side. All these factors combine to make this 1916-D quarter the ultimate example. Census: 1 in 68, 0 finer (10/13). Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R. Green; Green Estate; Partnership of Eric P. Newman / B.G. Johnson d.b.a. St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co.; Eric P. Newman @ $2.50; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
