1900 $1 Lafayette Dollar MS63 NGC. CAC. DuVall 1-B. A lovely Select example displaying rich luster, this piece displays a tan-gray and olive-gray patina over much of the coin, with more colorful toning also present. The shades include sea-green, peach-gold, and subtle sky-blue. Though the surname of Paul Bartlett appears on the reverse, he was the sculptor of the Lafayette statue in Paris. Chief Engraver Charles Barber was actually the coin's designer. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
