1910 25C PR68 S Cameo NGC. CAC. After the first year the novelty of the Barber design quickly diminished. Mintages for proofs languished below the the thousand-coin threshold for the remainder of the series after 1892. The nadir of production was in 1914 with only 380 proofs struck. The 1910 quarter had only 551 proofs struck; predictably very few high grade examples are extant today with or without cameo contrast. NGC has certified seven PR68 examples (with an unknown number of resubmissions) with the Cameo designation, and three are finer (10/13). Each side shows delicate, concentric shadings of pale blue and rose over deeply mirrored fields. There are no contact marks that we can see, nor would any be expected at this lofty grade level.
