1824/4 50C MS65 NGC. CAC. O-109, R.2. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. This spectacular Gem is sharply detailed, with a touch of the flatness (as always on this die pair) on a few of the obverse stars. The luminous centers are framed by vivid shades of golden-brown and violet toning, with radiant mint luster on both sides. The eye appeal generated by album storage is astounding. A single contact mark on the neck and whispers of slide marks on the cheek are noted on the otherwise pristine surfaces. This coin combines the highest available technical quality with incredible eye appeal. We find but three other MS65 examples of the 1824/4 O-109, generating a scramble for the top spot in the Condition Census. Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R. Green; Green Estate; Partnership of Eric P. Newman / B.G. Johnson d.b.a. St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co.; Eric P. Newman @ $3.00; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
