1811/10 50C AU58 NGC. CAC. O-101, R.1. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. Remnants of the underlying 0 appear below left and above right of the first 1, indicating a fairly early die state of the issue. This lovely near-Mint example is well-detailed, with the characteristically flat stars on the left. The lightly abraded surfaces display virtually full, vibrant, and frosty mint luster. The brilliant silver centers are surrounded by deep shades of sea-green and violet toning at the rims, telling us the coin was stored in an album. Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R. Green; Green Estate; Partnership of Eric P. Newman / B.G. Johnson d.b.a. St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co.; Eric P. Newman @ $7.50; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
