1819 50C MS64 NGC. CAC. O-109, R.2. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. A large mintage of 2.2 million bust half dollars was accomplished in 1819, with 15 die varieties known for the date. The coins were intended as currency reserves, accounting for the modest supply of Mint State examples today. This delightful Choice specimen is well struck with vibrant mint luster under shades of bluish-gray and golden-brown patina. In short, the epitome of originality. Eye appeal is exceptional. Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R. Green; Green Estate; Partnership of Eric P. Newman / B.G. Johnson d.b.a. St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co.; Eric P. Newman @ $3.00; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
