1850-O 50C MS65 NGC. Large O. WB-101. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. Just a few dozen Gems are known of the 1850-O half dollar, in spite of its generous mintage of more than 2.4 million pieces. This is a deeply patinated example that shows medium gray patina across each side with golden-red glowing just beneath, all backlit by rich mint luster. Well, but not quite fully struck, there are no obvious abrasions on either side. Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R. Green; Green Estate; Partnership of Eric P. Newman / B.G. Johnson d.b.a. St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co.; Eric P. Newman @ $3.00; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
