1874-S T$1 MS61 NGC. CAC. San Francisco was the most natural mint of issue for Trade dollars, owing to its relative proximity to the Chinese port cities that were the denomination's reason for being. This second-year S-mint has a few long, shallow scrapes in the right obverse field and spots at the left reverse but also strong luster under gold-gray and rose toning. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
