1872-CC 50C VG8 NGC. CAC. Large CC, WB-101. An attractive low-grade example from the popular Carson City mint. This coin has gray toning over nice surfaces; the only distraction is a vertical scratch in the right obverse field, consistent with this heavily circulated half dollar. This variety has a large CC mintmark (as do all 1872-CCs) which is the same die as used with some 1871-CC half dollars. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
