Little Rock, AR - Bank of the State of Arkansas $20 Post Note 18__ AR-10 G56 Rothert 400-10. Proof. PCGS Choice About New 55 Apparent. A very sharply printed and well-engraved India paper on original card proof by Underwood, Bald, Spencer & Hufty. At top center, shepherds are shearing sheep in a field. At the left end, a hunter or early soldier is within an oval. At the right end is a standing draped allegorical female with "20" die and caduceus. This proof is also a Rothert plate note and faces up nicely. The Apparent designation by PCGS is due to standard Hole Punch Cancels and a "Small Edge Tear in Left Margin". The prior minor flaw is trivial compared to the superior rarity and pedigree of this beautiful proof. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
