||Washington, DC - Bank of Washington $5 18__ DC-385 G44 SENC. Proof. PCGS Choice New 63. The $5 note is the lowest denomination from a trio of lovely proofs from this quintessential title and Trusteeship series. The intricately engraved India paper proof die is sunk to its original card proof by Draper & Co., Phil. Draper imprint proofs were one of several in short supply, or not present in, the American Banknote Company Archive sales. Across the center, a wide vignette shows two females in the middle of an agricultural background. Left end, Washington. At the right end, a United States brig navigates choppy seas, over a "5" die. This is a scarce proof, with three examples in the 1990 American Banknote Company Sale. A choice representative with Hole Punch Cancels though the India paper and original card. Ex: Eric P.
