Description Washington, DC - International Bank $5 Nov. 13, 1858. Partially Issued. PCGS Extremely Fine 40 Apparent. This colorful American Banknote Company note has a unique layout. The title arcs across the center; from the left corner to the right corner over the title are portraits of Jackson, Buchanan, Washington, Jefferson and Clay. Full red tint plate outlines a lazy "5" protector in white. Although not signed by the bank president, otherwise nearly fully issued. This scarce note is popular with collectors due its interesting layout. The Apparent designation is due to very "Minor Ink Erosion" that is scarcely visible to the naked eye. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society. Realized $1,645.00. Newman VI (Heritage Auctions, 4/2015), lot 19037. Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions.
