||Tallahassee, FL - Territory of Florida $3 June 3, 1830 Cr.T10 Benice 8. PCGS Very Choice New 64 Apparent. A second denomination from this scarce and attractive second territorial series printed from the engraved plates by N. & S.S. Jocelyn, New Haven. This is a handsome example; the subtle, natural paper tone is not at all distracting. At top center, a small portrait of Washington is flanked on each side by "3" dies. At the left end is standing Justice; at the right end, the denomination THREE is intersected by "3" perpendicularly. One of the finer examples known to us. This note is nearly fully framed all around from a plate that did not allow much margin for cutting. This serial number 14 note is signed on the back by the auditor, and certainly was acquired with the previously catalogued $2 denomination (note back corner penciled "S150.00" for pedigree purposes on each). A key three dollar bill type for those forming a collection of that topic, and always one of the most sought-after Florida series. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
