||Rochester, NH - Farmers and Mechanics Bank $3 Nov. 1, 1863 NH-300 G6c. PCGS Very Fine 25PPQ. This is an available note type, but only because most of the once plentiful remainder sheets have been cut into single notes. However, this is a fully signed and issued note from the type and very rare in this form. Strong printing from plates engraved with the dual imprint Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Edson, New York/New England Bank Note Co. At the top center, from the RWHE vignette catalog, are three cherubs busy at their artistic pursuits upon three Liberty seated silver dollars. At the lower left are Liberty and an eagle flanking the ornate "3." At the right is a young woman with ornate earrings and flowers in her hair; she appears to be holding a bottle with one hand and, perhaps applying perfume to her neck. This is fully signed, dated, issued and as stated, rare thus. A bold example showing great margins and pleasing surfaces. This gorgeous note represents a tremendous value with its pedigree and issued status. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
