Oakland, TX - Neer, James & Co. $3 June 6, 1862 Medlar 2. PCGS Very Fine 20. An exceptional private scrip note, with rarity and condition combining very nicely. This is printed on light blue-gray ruled paper with an imprint of O. F. Zink, Houston, Pr. THREE DOLLARS is across the center of the note and a partially shaded "3" is at the far right end. Above is the issuer name and at the bottom, the imprint and signature space. Listed as Rarity-7 (1-5 known) in Medlar, which should still be fairly accurate even though nearly fifty years have passed since its publication. The Rowe-Barr note at SMU is a remainder on deeper blue ruled paper, and the plate shows slight differences. This is a very rare note and boasts stupendous condition. Ex: Eric P.
