||Eagle Point, WI - Arctic Bank $20 18__ WI-135 G6a. Proof. PCGS Very Choice New 64. The highest denomination from the series and an impressive proof in many regards. The vignette and layout are outstanding work by Wellstood, Hay & Whiting, New York & Chicago. Printed on India paper and mounted on original cardstock. In the center is a globe with four allegorical females representing continents; two are seated at the top and the others are leaning on the sides as they stand in the clouds. The astrological signs appear on a band encircling the globe diagonally. The Gothic title is along the top. At the lower left is an ornate "XX." At the lower right is a man poling a river raft. "Capital $200,000" is at the right center. Hole Punch Cancelled, but only through the India paper. All proofs from this series show state of the art craftsmanship, but this is exceptional. The central vignette is seen only on the Globe Bank, Providence, Rhode Island notes and this $20 Arctic Bank to the best of our knowledge. Likely unique in private hands, this example presents a tremendous opportunity. A top notch proof from Wisconsin. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
