Description Oswego, OR - Oregon Iron & Steel Co's Storekeeper at Oswego, Oregon $2 Nov. 1, 1882. PCGS Very Fine 20. Store scrip from Oregon is exceedingly rare, and the Ford collection did not contain any Oregon store bills despite over fifty years of searching. This note is fully signed and issued, another desirable attribute. It was printed on sturdy paper, and shows no imprint. A prominent green tint is over the center, but the details are ill defined. The title is across the top between "2" counters. At bottom center TWO DOLLARS is on the shaded banner. The signature of the superintendent is at bottom right with the written date at the left. This is an intriguing note and another unique specialist opportunity. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society. Realized $2,350.00. Newman VI (Heritage Auctions, 4/2015), lot 19450.
