Continental Currency February 26, 1777 $5 Fr. CC-58. PCGS Very Choice New 64PPQ. This is one of the finest Ben Levy signed notes we have seen. Traditionally, Levy has been collected as a Jewish signer, and his dark black signature is strongly accomplished on this example and not faded as often seen. PCGS has graded just one Ben Levy signed note at Gem New 65. The present note is a wonderful example, with inspiring broad margins and nearly perfect centering on both sides. The printing clarity and immaculate paper surface are perfect. The Ben Levy note we sold in Newman Part VI, a November 2, 1776 $4 in PCGS Choice New 63, exceeded its estimate and sold for $1,645. This superior note is worthy of eclipsing that sharp note. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society
