Description Continental Currency May 20, 1777 $30 Fr. CC-70. PCGS Choice About New 55. This was the last issue to use the Franklin emblem backs which were first used on the May 10, 1775 $30 notes and created for the May 10, 1775 $20 Marbled border notes. This is another sleeper, because it's difficult to find in fully uncirculated condition. The highest graded at PCGS is Choice New 62. The margins are close, but the printing is sharp on the First United States $30. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society. From Newman VI (Heritage Auctions, 4/2015, lot 19582), realized $998.75. Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions.
