| Description | Continental Currency November 29, 1775 $6 Fr. CC-16. PCGS Choice About New 58. Also from this second resolution, a very boldly printed and widely margined $6 note. At the left is an emblem of a beaver gnawing on a tree with the motto PERSEVERANDO (By perseverance) arcing above. Of this design, Franklin writes," the great tree may be intended to represent the enormous power Britain has assumed over us" and the beaver, "able, by assiduous and steady working, to fell large trees, may signify America." The buttercup nature-print back is beautifully detailed and well centered. Signed by Watkins, Jr. and Garrison. Conservatively graded in our opinion.
