Description Rome, GA - Lot of 4 Bank of the Empire State Issued Notes. All American Bank Note Company layouts from the original Bald, Cousland & Co. vignettes and green protectors. The quartet is well matched for eye appeal. $1 Sep. 4, 1861 GA-250 G2c. PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent. Liberty sits at top center supporting a shield with the state seal and a cotton plant. Green "1" protectors flank the denomination. Noted by grading are "Minor Stains." $2 Sep. 4, 1861 GA-250 G4c. PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent. The named steamship, Pennington, is at top center, Washington is in the upper left corner, and a green TWO protector is across. The "Minor Rust Stains on Back" cited by PCGS show to the face slightly. $5 July 1, 1860 GA-250 G6c. PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent. A family scene is at top center on this type, and a green FIVE protector is across the bottom. "Tape on Back" is noted, but a well-framed note. $10 Sep. 4, 1861 GA-250 G8c. PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent. The young boy causes a commotion as he falls off a log in the family vignette at top center. A green TEN protector is across. Grading notes: "Tape on Back; Minor Stains."
