||Washington, GA - Bank of the State of Georgia, Branch Bank in Washington $2 December 7, 1827 GA-330 G480 SENC. PCGS Very Good 10. This is an exceedingly rare and early Bank of the State, Savannah type branch payable at Washington. This SENC note is Haxby Design 2A, the initial series $2 branch type from the bank. Not illustrated and with "NDA," indicating no data available. The type appears to have been missing from the Dorris Collection and is the first we have cataloged. This Fairman, Draper, Underwood & Company imprint type features an allegorical female with attributes of agriculture and commerce. Intricate ends show TWO at the left and GEORGIA at the right. A Corinthian silver stater obverse die is at bottom center. Honest circulation only. An important opportunity. Ex: Eric P.
