||Continental Currency April 11, 1778 $4 Yorktown Issue Fr. CC-71. PCGS Choice About New 58PPQ. The April 11, 1778 Resolution "at York-town" series is the rarest overall in the Continental currency genre. High-grade notes with strong paper originality like this and the following two denominations are rarely offered at auction, except from esteemed cabinets such as the Newman Collection. This is the lowest denomination from the series and is tied for the finest graded at PCGS. Broadly margined and well printed for the series and type. The signatures of E. Ryves and William Hardy are strongly penned and superior for this series. The face eye-appeal is that of much higher-grade note, and this example presents an important opportunity. We cataloged and sold the other PCGS 58PPQ graded note of this type in our April 2015 CSNS sale for $5,875. This handsome example will fit beautifully into an Uncirculated set or serve as a fitting representative of this significant issue. Ex: Eric P.
