Continental Currency April 11, 1778 Yorktown Issue Uncut Single Pane Sheet of $40-$30-$20-$4/$8-$7-$6-$5 Blue Counterfeit Detector Notes Fr. CC-78DT-CC-76DT-CC-71DT/CC-75DT-CC-72DT. PCGS Extremely Fine 40 Apparent. This is a key blue counterfeit detector sheet and rarely offered for sale. The denomination array is different than previous series as this issue adds a new $40 denomination. The lowest denomination is $4 on the issue date. Very boldly printed. Some gutter folds are a bit heavy or slightly intersect notes. Noted are "Small Splits; Tape Repair on Back; Missing UR Corner Tip." Individual detector notes from the resolution are difficult to obtain, but a sheet is even more desirable. We have handled only one eight-note pane, back in 2006. It realized $8,050 graded raw About New. This boasts pedigree and is a showpiece. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society, Heritage Auctions Internet Sale (1/2017).
