Description | New Jersey April 23, 1761 6 Pounds Fr. NJ-147. PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent. There were 917 six-pound notes authorized from the Twelfth War Issue. The face style is similar to the previous, with Royal Arms and red text, but the red face bordering is wide and ornate. Printed by James Parker with a black sage leaf back. Noted with a "Small Edge Split at Bottom Center" and "Minor Mounting Remnants on Back." These are trivial faults compared to the old red face color framing strong black printing. Another superior grade New Jersey 6-pound note. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society From Newman VIII (Heritage Auctions, 11/2017), lot 28065, realized $336.
