Rhode Island January 15, 1776 60 Shillings Fr. RI-229. PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent. The Revolutionary War spurred numerous series of Rhode Island notes, mostly interest bearing, that were consistent in size format and style with Connecticut notes from the same period. All notes from this series are rare and this highest denomination is extremely rare. We have never encountered another. A solid note, virtually complete around the perimeter and with only some minor faults. Noted with "Edge and Internal Splits and Tears; Stains." Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society
