South Carolina City of Charleston July 6, 1789 2 Shillings Fr. SC-199. PCGS Choice About New 55. A third fully issued denomination from this series, signed by C. Warham and S. Beach. This uniface, wide format note was printed on laid paper with the imprint Abernathie Fecit. Ornamental borders are on three sides; a lighthouse vignette is at the lower left end. Listed as Austin Sheheen #771. There were 6,000 notes authorized of this denomination. The handling is a bit heavier on this example than on the previous, but essentially it has clean and full bodied paper. An excellent issued note from this series, and the Newman plate note.
