Description | Virginia May 3, 1779 $3 Fr. VA-164. PCGS Fine 15 Apparent. The lowest denomination of this thin paper series, and extremely rare as such. Virginia tramples Tyranny at left. Only two others have been graded at PCGS. Noted as "Severed and Tape Repaired" and with "Minor Edge Damage." A bright example that faces up well for the grade. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society From Newman VIII (Heritage Auctions, 11/2017), lot 29046, realized $276. Image and description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, https://ha.com. |
