Virginia July 17, 1775 Small Ordinance 2 Pounds Fr. VA-78a. PCGS Choice About New 55PPQ. The July 17, 1775 issue date authorized the first Ashby large bills and uniface small notes, like this, printed on thick paper. This is the Newman plate note, a fresh and original example, bold and vivid for the type. The margins are close, but more than acceptable for this series. The handling seen from the back is minimal.
