Description Virginia September 1, 1775 20 Shillings James River Bank Form Fr. VA-82. PCGS Very Fine 35 Apparent. The second series of James River Bank forms were emitted when the lack of a paper supply required the unused forms from 1773 to be put into service. Thus, the design and style was the same as for the 1773 notes. This is a uniface type. Modest circulation, but with some slight faults. Noted with "Edge Splits and Tears." A pleasing James River Form. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society Realized $881.25. Newman VII (Heritage Auctions, 10/2015), lot 18220. Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions.
