Another counterfeited denomination from the issue illustrating the rampant fakery going on at the time. No. 14001. Printed on thin paper. Diagnostics: Newman 1.1: Engraved. This bill is described in the Official Broadside. On the face: In the top border, the 8 under the space just to the right of E in THE is black instead of white. To the right of the serial number, there is no period after EIGHT DOLLARS. In the text, the G in GOLD is too large and its base is too low. On the back: The first S in SELLERS tilts to the right.
