Natchez, MS - Mississippi Shipping Company 50 Cents/IIII Bits Dec. 4, 1839 Leggett 58, Kraus 30253. PCGS Fine 12 Apparent. The Morris notes appear to have been replaced with engraved series notes by Draper, Toppan, Longacre & Co. Riverboat traffic in the center vignette shows a steamboat, rowboat, and sailboat. Between denomination blocks, ends show a cherub at left and an eagle at right. Note the designation "IIII BITS" on the plate, which is very unusual. Grading notes "Hinges on Back."
