(Circa-1850) NE Sixpence Silver Wyatt Copy, Kenney-2, MS62 Thomas Wyatt of New York City is the best-known maker of mid-19th century deceptive copies of Massachusetts silver. Wyatt even imitated the out-of-round characteristics of the genuine N.E. sixpence, created by shallow straight clips along the borders. Granular recessions are present at 5 o'clock on the obverse, and opposite at 7 o'clock on the reverse. The fields exhibit heavy parallel die polish lines, as struck. Ex: Eric P.
