(Circa-1850) NE Shilling Silver Wyatt Copy, Kenney-1, MS63A well-struck example of this rare pre-Civil War imitation New England shilling. Moderately granular on the obverse near 9 and 11 o'clock, and on the reverse beneath XII and at 3 and 7 o'clock. The obverse has a recessed linear area near 5 o'clock. Thomas Wyatt of New York City made copy dies of early Massachusetts silver coins, and struck counterfeits circa-1856. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
