||New England Sixpence Imitation, AU58 Newman-NJ Plate Coin31.5 gn. The plate coin for the variety in Eric Newman's classic numismatic detective reference, The Secret of the Good Samaritan Shilling. According to Newman, Henry Chapman first discussed the copy in the November 1911 issue of The Numismatist. The copy is not deceptive, since the N in NE more closely resembles the letter K. Lime-green undertones emerge from smooth and glossy cream-gray surfaces. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
