(Circa-1850) Massachusetts Pine Tree Twopence Silver Wyatt Copy, Noe-N, MS62This rare Thomas Wyatt die pairing is cataloged as fabrication variety N by Sydney P. Noe in his 1952 Pine Tree reference. The reverse die is shared with Kenney-6, which has an Oak Tree obverse. The obverse die is shared with Kenney-5, Noe-M, which has a threepence reverse. The Whitman colonial Encyclopedia further muddles the matter under W-14030 with an incorrect claim that Noe-N and Kenney-6 have the same obverse. This typically struck example has cream-gray high points and gunmetal fields. The obverse is moderately misaligned toward 12 o'clock, while the reverse is slightly misaligned toward 6 o'clock.
