Allender Gold Coin Detector in Original Box An American gold coin counterfeit detector consisting of a brass beam and fulcrum, with slots for all six denominations of U.S. gold coins, including both sizes for the gold dollar. Patented by John Allender on November 27, 1855. Housed in the original cardboard box, with instruction letter pasted to the inside lid. Also included is a yellow paper insert with various coin weights and values, dated NY 1851 on the back. Approximate dimensions: 9.0 x 2.0 x 0.7 inches. Ex: Eric P.
