Rare and Informative Reports On the Suppression of CounterfeitingTwelve of the 13 annual reports issued from 1854 to 1866, being the first through 13th, lacking only the eighth for completion. Boston, 1854-1866. 8vo, original printed paper covers [final with plain covers]. Occasional wear to covers. Very good to fine copies. A nearly complete set of this rare but important publication. The Association funded the prosecution of counterfeiters, and did much to encourage rigorous law enforcements efforts against counterfeiting. Most of these reports include highly detailed accounts of successful convictions, giving not only the names of those convicted, but a description of what they passed and where, as well as the resulting sentences. Single issues are desirable; complete sets are virtually unknown. Estimate $1,000. Ex: Goodspeed's Book Shop (10/1969); Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
