Tooke, 1697. 4to [32 by 21.5 cm], contemporary blind-paneled calf; spine with five raised bands; red morocco spine label, lettered in gilt; all page edges speckled. (8), 342, (14) pages; title printed in red and black; fine engravings of the obverses and reverses of 97 English coins and medals in the text, including what is probably the earliest depiction of the St. Patrick's coinage on page 133. Dekesel E28. Hirsch 37. Lipsius 118. Binding a bit worn, especially at spine and extremities, but holding. Very good. This is the first major history of British medals written in English.
