Felt's 1839 Work on Massachusetts CurrencyBoston: Printed by Perkins & Marvin, 1839. Tall 8vo, original black blindstamped cloth, gilt. (4), (9)-259, (1) pages; engraved plate of Colonial coins; engraved facsimile of a 1690 Massachusetts Treasury note; engraved facsimile of a 1775 twenty-four shilling note. Moderately worn with light foxing; very good or better. One of the first major works to comprehensively cover an American numismatic topic. The three lithographic plates are found only in a small number of examples. Estimate $500. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
