Philadelphia: Sherman & Co., Printers, 1872. 30 pages, blank leaf; 5 photozinchographic process plates of currency. Square 8vo, contemporary red calf-backed marbled boards; spine ruled and lettered in gilt. Two original editions of scarce works by Haseltine on American paper money. The Confederate production was partly a fixed price list, but with an effort on Haseltine's part to have it also serve as a reference to the series. The second work is the first attempt at a comprehensive listing of Colonial and Continental currency, issued in the same year that Haseltine went into business on his own at age 34. He would become the leading authority of his day on the topic. Binding lightly worn; very good or better. Ex: Herbert A. Brand, with his bookplate and label. Estimate $500. Ex: Eric P.
