First edition, fourth printing. 16mo, original blindstamped dark brown cloth; front cover lettered in gilt. 32 pages; 10 engraved plates of bank note design elements, with original tissue guards, interspersed in the text, with plate 6 serving as a frontispiece, plate 4 printed in red ink, plate 8 printed in green ink, and two new unnumbered plates being an engraved folding Heath bank note facsimile and an engraved folding counterfeit bank note facsimile of a $5 note of the Bank of Orleans, New York. Near fine. This is the first printing of Heath to include an impression taken from a captured counterfeit plate. Estimate $400 Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
