Twelfth edition [there being no editions between the fourth edition and this]. Small 4to, original green cloth, front cover lettered and decorated in gilt. Engraved title preceding printed title; 38, (2) pages; 9 engraved plates respectively depicting the left-hand faces of (above) 1875 Series United States Notes [$500 is 1874] and (below) first charter period National Currency in $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $500, and $1000 denominations. An entirely new edition, rewritten and with completely different plates that are remarkably well-printed. These, plus the addition of the finely engraved title, make this an especially desirable edition. Covers a bit worn and discolored, but contents clean; very good or better. Estimate $450 Ex: Eric P.
