Engraved title preceding printed title; 41, (1) pages, including new prefatory chapter, "A Few Hints to Aid in Detecting Counterfeit Money," by George W. Casilear, which now appears before Chapter 1; 11 engraved plates, being 9 plates respectively depicting the left-hand faces of (above) 1875 Series United States Notes [$500 is 1874] and (below) first charter period National Currency in $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $500, and $1000 denominations, followed by 2 new plates depicting alternately the left- or right-hand side of the backs of the National Currency notes of the $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $500, and $1000 denominations, all printed in green and black. Unnumbered advertising pages bound at end, consisting of 8 pages devoted to the Pocket Edition, Heath's magnifiers (with one illustration), and various testimonials.
